At long last Homicide on the Homestead has been released.
A farmer’s cries of murder burst through the station house doors, shattering Detective Hodgins’ quiet day. Someone has bludgeoned elderly “Bucky” Buckingham and left him for dead in the barn.
Despite the deceased being a kind and gentle man, Bucky’s death reveals a long list of suspects. Detective Hodgins must hunt for the truth farther away from Toronto than ever before into Elora, Kleinburg, and Collingwood.
It’s up to Hodgins to unravel veiled secrets held, all while dealing with a distracted constable convinced his sweetheart may be returning home in someone else’s arms.
Looks like I may be on schedule to release book 4 in the Detective Hodgins series, Homicide on the Homestead, in time for Christmas. The cover is partially ready. Basic graphics have been picked, so it shouldn’t take long to get that finished. Final (hopefully) revisions are being done.
Sneak peek at the cover … it will require a bit of tweaking, but this is more or less what it will look like.
Book 5 has been started so with luck and commitment that will be available next year. Working title – United in Holy Deadlock. Might be able to get the graphics department working on that so it will be half-way ready when the manuscript is done.
The second novella in the D.E.M.ON Tales series was released Jan 30, 2020. Book 1 is Assassin Eco- Corpses, released Oct 31. 2019. Book 2 is Bobcat Got Your Tongue. Book 3 is scheduled for an Apr.30 release. and Book 4 July 31. These are e-books, with a print version containing all four scheduled for August or September. The next group of 4 will have the same schedule.
The fourth book in the Detective Hodgins series should be ready for release later this spring. At this point in time, it looks like there will be 9 novellas in this series.
Generation Witch is on hold until Book 4 in the Hodgins series is published.
Author Nanci M Pattenden will be launching a new series this fall.
She is currently awaiting feedback from her editor on Generation Witch: Rebirth. While this doesn’t exactly fit her normal genre of Victorian mysteries, it does have an element of mystery to it. Gen Witch is a contemporary Urban Fantasy Paranormal story. The main character, Marcy has abandoned her family heritage as practicing psychics to lead a so-called normal life. After inheriting from the last relative in her direct line, she begins to embrace her natural-born talent. After a quick trip to England to visit the only family she has left, Marcy soon realizes she is the target of psychic attack. She must enlist the aid of her family to win the battle. This is the first book in a short series.
In addition, Pattenden will be working with fellow author M.J. Moores in a novella series called D.E.M.ON. Tales. A tongue-in-cheek adventure with local agents hunting demons and mythical creatures. There will be 28 books in the series, with each author taking turns with the alphabet. The first will be done by Pattenden, and the expected release date is Hallowe’en. They will be put out in e-book, with a print version done every four books.
The major project for 2015 will be book two. It has been started and has been marinating for a few months. There are a few other things that have been partially written, but they will be put on the shelf until book two is done. I guess the writers version of Elf on the Shelf is Manuscript on the Shelf. For most an e-shelf inside the computer.
Updates for the book will be on the author’s site at http://www.nancipattenden.com.
Body in the Harbour is now available. Links to various e-formats can be found at nancipattenden.com.
The first Detective Hodgins Victorian murder mystery will be launched in November at Bookapalooza in Oshawa, ON. There will be both print and e-version available. Details to follow.
